Kamala Harris and Donald Trump debate (Courtesy of ABC News)
ABC News showed how it is done.
David Muir and Linsey Davis on Tuesday night facilitated a compelling and instructive debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, while also fact-checking the lie-peddling former president and establishing a basic baseline of truth at the high-stakes political showdown.
Throughout the evening, Muir and Davis demonstrated authority, firmly correcting Trump and not allowing the former president to peddle lies unchecked to the American public. The duo fact-checked Trump in real-time on abortion, immigration, the results of the 2020 election, and more.
"This blows up the premise that you can’t fact check and you can’t press Trump," one television news anchor texted me during the debate.
