The Trump administration is making it abundantly clear that it views the press as an adversary to be undermined at every opportunity.

On Wednesday, bureau chiefs and executives from the nation's top newsrooms convened for a meeting with Pentagon spokesman John Ullyot. The meeting, which I'm told NBC News boss Rebecca Blumenstein even traveled to Washington for, was held so that newsrooms could lodge a formal complaint against the Pete Hegseth-led Pentagon for booting a handful of outlets from their dedicated workspaces the week before.
