Weingarten’s Murdoch Warning
Weingarten's team said they believe sending a legal notice is the only way to get the New York Post to do the right thing.

Randi Weingarten is fed up with Murdoch Media.
As president of the American Federation of Teachers, Weingarten has found herself as a constant target of Rupert Murdoch's Fox News and New York Post. Over the years, both outlets have aggressively assailed the teachers union boss, repeatedly dragging her name through the mud.
That was the case on Tuesday, when the Post published a piece from its right-wing editorial board that declared: "Randi Weingarten’s insane urge to appease Hamas after it murdered hostages." The article was based on a tweet Weingarten posted that read, "Our hearts are breaking for the families of the hostages Hamas murdered. At the same time anger must be placed at [Benjamin] Netanyahu’s feet for his refusal to consummate cease fire/hostage release deal.”
With the piece, the Post managed to finally cross the line for Weingarten. On Wednesday evening, Weingarten's lawyer, Mark Richard, sent a letter to the tabloid's bosses, Keith Poole and Stephen Lynch, demanding "an immediate published apology and correction."
